Dollypurrs are a small scale hobby breeder of Ragdolls. We are proud members of the P.R.B.C.C. (Progressive Ragdoll Breed Cat Club), associates of the G.C.C.F. (The Governing Council of the Cat Fancy), and member of the G.C.C.F Approved Breeder Scheme. We are fully committed to not only breeding to the best of the Ragdoll breed standards, as well as working to ensuring the breed has a healthy future.
So how did it all begin? Well, we first fell into the world of Ragdolls whilst house hunting. Yes, I kid you not! During this particular house viewing, we were befriended and followed around, just like you would expect a dog to ... but by a cat! The cat was a Ragdoll. Not only did its friendly puppy like behavior catch our attention, so did it’s captivating oval blue eyes and silky long fur. She was utterly exquisite. We were so enchanted by this encounter that we decided to research the Ragdoll breed. This is when we discovered that all the endearing features of the cat we had seen, were in fact standard traits of the Ragdoll breed.
A few months prior, our much loved Border Collie Fiji had sadly passed away, we still missed her terribly. Having researched the Ragdoll breed, we concluded it was a perfect match for us. We bought our pet boy Rocco, who we simply fell in love with. It was only once Rocco joined our family did we fully appreciate just how different and magical the Ragdoll breed really are. With Rocco, we saw first hand how Ragdolls are genuinely loving and easy going. Rocco not only became ours and our children’s best friend, but also our much loved pet dog Cuba’s .... who is a gentle giant Rottweiler! Although we could never replace Fiji, Rocco sure did earn his place in all our hearts.
Then in 2018 my health took a sudden unexpected decline, it shook my family to the core. I decided I needed to concentrate on my health and resigned from my role as an E.A. at a private equity firm in Mayfair.
Once my recovery was well underway, I re-evaluated my whole life and decided not to return to work. My mum had suffered a debilitating stroke 3 years earlier, so instead I took this opportunity to move mum in with us and be her full time carer. It was at this point that I took the decision to become a registered pedigree Ragdoll breeder, and if I’m to be perfectly honest ... I have not looked back since!
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank my breeder for not only being an amazing mentor, my friend, but also my guardian angel. Without your invaluable friendship and support, Dollypurrs would never have been possible.
